Getting started on the path to performance driving is easy with SATCAR. Drivers must have a regular drivers license issued by the state of residence. Younger drivers can start with SATCAR as soon as they get their state licenses. Your first step should be to register for the SATCAR mailing list. Having your name on the list will allow us to keep you updated regarding the growth of SATCAR and specific activities in your area. Names and addresses on the mailing list also provide us with information regarding the locations of interested drivers so we can prioritize our organizing activities.

SATCAR events can be entered with any car, at any level or preparation, as long as it is safe for use on a race track. Specific car information is shown under the CAR INFO section. The only special equipment you will need is a helmet, which must have a SNELL 2000 or newer approval sticker.

Prior to entering any events, you will also have to become a member of SATCAR and have your vehicle safety inspected. If you have prior driving school, open tracking, or road racing experience you may qualify for a Competition License and can apply for one immediately. If you have limited or no experience you will have to attend a minimum of two days of driving school at a road racing course.
